Orchids, Anthuriums & Heliconias

The floral market is heating up

I absolutely love this Marchesa look with orchids. I have seen wild orchids growing on the Big Island of Hawaii and loved visiting the Akatsuka Orchid Farm on the way to Volcanoes National Park. There, you can see beautiful varieties and learn about the growing process.

My grandma loved anthuriums. They are also abundant in the Hilo area. I sadly lost the photos from the summer I spent there, but hope I will find them one day.

Heliconia are bolder and can come in a greater variety. There are a few variety at Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden in Kaneohe.
