Kāneʻohe Sandbar with the Hammanis

Thank you, Genta, for taking me out on the water for the first time since COVID!

What started off as an overcast day turned out to be beautiful! I enjoyed going out the sandbar off of Heʻeia. Life on the island is great this time of year when it does clear up. It was a bit cold and windy, but it was fun to do something on the water. Two turtles swam by, though the water is shallow for swimming right now.

The sandbar is a raised strip off the eastern coast of Oʻahu exposed at low tide. It draws day charters for snorkeling, swimming & turtle spotting.
